Healing Properties of Rose of Jericho
 
The Rose of Jericho (Selaginella Lepidophylla) is also known as the 
“Resurrection Plant”. This plant curls up into a dry ball when not in water and when in water, the plant magically opens up with beautiful fern like leaves. When the water is removed, the plant goes back into a state of hibernation. 
It is this ability to consistently come back to life that gives the Rose of Jericho its magical and spiritual properties. 
In spiritual practices, it is believed to bring peace, prosperity, and abundance to a home or business.
It is believed to protect against illness and all types of negative energies and vibrations. It is also used as a “Holy Water” to bless people, objects, etc.
To begin to use your plant, hold it in your hands and say a prayer/blessing. Put an intention on the plant. Put the plant in a bowl and add water, covering the roots only. Add water as needed throughout the week. The plant should open and turn green within 3-7 days. The water of the Rose of Jericho should be changed once a week. When changing the water, pass the plant under tap water for a few seconds to clean off any negative residues. Add coins to the plant for prosperity and/or stones for their individual meaning. Copper and silver coins are extremely good. After a full moon cycle, use the coins as talismans, giving them away to family, friends and persons in need. They are a gift from the spirit in the plant. Give prosperity around you freely and it will come back to you threefold. If you remove the plant from the water, the plant will close around your coins and/or stones and protect them until it is time to add water and unfold the Rose of Jericho plant again. This process can be repeated over and over.
